'We want to hunt' – Arsenal's sights set on WSL title charge after huge win
Arsenal hammered lowly Leicester City 7-0 to start applying more pressure to leaders Manchester City in the Women's Super League.
Arsenal are relishing the role of hunters as they aim to apply pressure to Women's Super League leaders Manchester City.
The Gunners thrashed struggling Leicester City 7-0 on Wednesday as they played one of their games in hands on Man City, who suffered a shock 3-2 loss to Brighton last weekend.
City have only two games remaining, and they need five points to absolutely guarantee their first WSL title since 2016.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have two games in hand and sit third on 41 points, eight back from City and two behind Chelsea.
And the Gunners, who are 2-1 up against Lyon after the first leg of their Women's Champions League semi-final, are enjoying the chase.
"We like to be in a hunting position," midfielder Frida Maanum said.
"We are in a good position, we want to hunt [City] from the back and try to catch them."
“I’m so pleased with the way we do it, how we do it together and players playing different roles, different partnerships.”

Renée praises the team’s efforts in tonight’s victory over Leicester City:
Opta's supercomputer still makes City overwhelming favourites to win the crown.
They are given a 92.5% probability of finishing top, while Arsenal's chances come in at just 7.5%.
"I don't know," Arsenal boss Renee Slegers replied when asked if her team could close the gap.
"We have nothing yet so we have to keep on pushing."
Speaking to Sky Sports, Slegers said: "Clean sheet, seven goals scored, different scorers - it was a great night for us.
"You saw so many players playing the Arsenal way, we played attractive football and we were very brave in everything we did.
"Everyone knows their role and brings their strengths. There are such high levels of communication and trust within the team, on the pitch, off the pitch."
