Wales 14-68 England: Ten-try visitors run riot to apply pressure on France

England have done all they can in their quest for a first Six Nations title in five years, which they will secure if Scotland deny France.

England boosted their Six Nations title hopes with a 68-14 rout of Wales, securing a crucial bonus-point victory to heap pressure on France.

With Les Bleus facing Scotland in Paris later on Saturday, Steve Borthwick's side did all they could to enhance their championship chances with 10 tries, and will be crowned champions if Fabien Galthie's men fail to win at Stade de France.

England were quickly out of the blocks at the Principality Stadium, with skipper Maro Itoje powering over inside three minutes.

Wales thought they had replied when Blair Murray raced clear down the right and crossed, but the try was ruled out following a TMO review, with Tomos Williams deemed to be offside and interfering with play in the build-up.

Tom Roebuck battled his way over the line to extend the visitors' lead though, despite Luke Cowan-Dickie's superb last-ditch challenge denying Murray, the hosts did get on the scoreboard thanks to Ben Thomas.

However, it proved a false dawn as England quickly responded with Tommy Freeman crossing after a sweeping move, while Chandler Cunningham-Smith and Will Stuart also went over before half-time.

Wales began the second half brightly and went within whiskers of scoring, as Aaron Wainwright agonisingly knocked on in the corner.

But their momentum was halted when an interception allowed Alex Mitchell to chase his own punt and touch down.

Borthwick's side were not done, though, and ensured they finished with a flourish. Henry Pollock crossed on his debut, while Joe Heyes also went over to put the icing on the cake.

Thomas grabbed his second try at the other end for the merest of Welsh consolations, but England had the final word with Pollock and Cunningham-Smith also doubling up.

Data Debrief: More unwanted records for Wales

Wales' record losing streak continues. Losing all five matches in successive Six Nations championships for the first time, they have also become the first Tier 1 nation to suffer 17 successive Test defeats.

England were far too strong as they scored four or more tries away in this Six Nations fixture for the first time since their maiden visit to the Principality Stadium in 2001 (44-15 victory).

On an individual note, Freeman became only the second player to score a try in all five rounds of a Six Nations campaign, after France's Philippe Bernat-Saller 24 years earlier.
