Van der Dussen to lead South Africa for T20I tri-series
South Africa will be without some key players for the T20I tri-series next month, with Rassie van der Dussen tasked with leading the team.
Rassie van der Dussen will lead a new-look South Africa side for their upcoming T20I tri-series in Harare, with Lhuan-dre Pretorius receiving a maiden call-up.
The Proteas will be without regular captain Aiden Markram, as well as Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj, who are set to be involved in the two-Test series against Zimbabwe and are having their workloads managed.
Pretorius, who topped the run charts in SA20 this year, will join the team after playing South Africa's Tests against Zimbabwe, with the aim of earning a first T20I cap.
Rubin Hermann, left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy and all-rounder Corbin Bosch have also received their first call-ups.
South Africa do have seamers Gerald Coetzee and Nandre Burger back in the fold as the pair return to international cricket after eight and 11 months, respectively.
Coetzee had been sidelined by a hamstring and then a groin injury, while Burger was out with a lower back fracture.
Proteas Men’s head coach Shukri Conrad has named a 14-player squad for the upcoming T20 International (T20I) tri-series against hosts Zimbabwe and New Zealand, set to take place in Harare from 14 - 26 July.

They are, however, without fast bowler Anrich Nortje, who has suffered a "stress reaction" that will keep him out of action indefinitely.
This will be the first white-ball assignment for South Africa's all-format coach Shukri Conrad, with the tri-series beginning on July 14, with New Zealand also involved.
South Africa T20I squad: Rassie van der Dussen (captain), Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Reeza Hendricks, Rubin Hermann, George Linde, Kwena Maphaka, Senuran Muthusamy, Lungi Ngidi, Nqaba Peter, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Andile Simelane.
