Iga Swiatek marched into the Indian Wells Open quarter-finals with a dominant victory over Karolina Muchova.

Swiatek required just 77 minutes to triumph 6-2 6-0 in an utterly one-sided last-16 encounter.

Muchova, a recent WTA 1000 champion in Doha, came into the tie in fine form, having won 14 of her past 16 outings, while her eight-match winning streak was the longest active streak on the Tour.

Yet Swiatek never gave her a chance, not giving up a single break point while getting the better of Muchova's serve five times.

"I felt great," said second seed Swiatek. "I felt like I was playing better and better. Just great.

"I just love playing here. I love the conditions. I started to understand them better a couple of years back and since then. It's a great place to play tennis and to practice as well.

"I feel like I can play really solid here, and hopefully I'm going to keep that going."

Swiatek's second-set bagel marked her 38th at a WTA 1000 event, seeing her move fourth on the all-time list.

Only Serena Williams (27) has claimed 25 wins at Indian Wells in fewer matches played than Swiatek (28) since the tournament’s inception in 1989.

In fact, Indian Wells is now Swiatek's third-best tournament when it comes to match wins, after Roland-Garros (40) and the Australian Open (26).

The Pole is the third-youngest player to reach 20 WTA-1000 hard-court quarter-finals since the format’s introduction in 2009, older only than Agnieszka Radwanska and Caroline Wozniacki.
