Tandy: Wales have 'some pride' despite 'disappointing' Argentina loss
Steve Tandy's life with Wales got off to the worst possible start, with Argentina storming to a stunning 52-28 victory in Cardiff.
Wales head coach Steve Tandy says there is still "some pride" amid their disappointment, after suffering a record-breaking loss to Argentina in Sunday's autumn international.
Tandy suffered defeat in his first Test since taking over Wales, who suffered a 10th successive home defeat in their 52-28 loss.
The Pumas scored seven tries, with Geronimo Prisciantelli's double leading the charge. Pedro Delgado, Simon Benitez Cruz, Mateo Carreras, Bautista Delguy and Santiago Grondona also crossed, while Santiago Carreras kicked 17 points.
It is the most points Argentina have ever scored against Wales, and marks a record win margin, despite the hosts getting four tries of their own.
Tomos Williams, Dewi Lake, Blair Murray and Jac Morgan, who was forced off with a suspected dislocated shoulder, all scored for the hosts, who were unable to cause an upset in Cardiff.
And though Tandy was left frustrated with the defensive aspects of the match, he also praised his inexperienced squad's performance.
"We're disappointed with the result, but there's some pride in the good things we did and scoring four tries. We could have scored more," he said.
"It was an amazing test for us. We can't die wondering, and the only way to gain experience is by being out there. Dan Edwards, on his third or fourth cap, some of the moments he had in the game were great. And the only way to get that is by doing it.

"You're coming up against a really battle-hardened Argentina team who have possibly 800 to 900 caps in their squad, and have just played South Africa and New Zealand.
"They were outstanding in the air, and the tries either side of half-time were a blow. There is always that disappointment when you concede seven tries, and there were too many sloppy moments to win any big game.
"That's not something we want defensively, but also, we know the bits where we need to grow.
"But it's also about the importance of what we're trying to be, making sure that we reflect on what we set out to do, and there are a lot of things that we can tidy up pretty quickly."
Argentina responded after back-to-back defeats to world champions South Africa with this victory and face Scotland next, while next up for Wales are Japan.
