Garry Ringrose has withdrawn from the British and Irish Lions side to face Australia on Saturday, but Owen Farrell has been named in the squad.

Ringrose was named in Andy Farrell's team for the second Test, but took himself out of contention due to the effects of a concussion.

The Irish international also missed the first match against Australia, which the Lions won in Brisbane, due to the same issue.

"Garry was actually selected and unfortunately in training today he's had to pull out," said Farrell.

"It's head-related again. It was literally as I was walking off the field. He came to me and, once it's mentioned, that's that.

"So there was no incident. He was feeling good, well in advance of Tuesday, and fit and ready to play [against the First Nations and Pasifika XV].

"No incident through the game at all, nothing yesterday and nothing this morning, but with these type of things, players are getting very good at telling the truth of how they feel, so it was a no-brainer to make the change straight away."

Owen Farrell is back in the fold as a replacement in Melbourne, having captained the Lions on Tuesday.

Andrew Porter takes over from Ellis Genge at loosehead, while Ollie Chessum has come in for the injured Joe McCarthy.

Jac Morgan, meanwhile, could make his debut from the bench.
