Ruben Neves stays on at Al-Hilal

Ruben Neves was linked with a move away from Al-Hilal in the winter transfer window, but he has signed a new deal with the Saudi club.

Ruben Neves has signed a new deal at Al-Hilal, keeping him with the Saudi Pro League leaders until 2029.

The Portugal international had been linked with a return to Europe in the winter transfer window.

However, no move materialised, and Neves has now agreed a three-year contract extension with the Pro League leaders.

Neves joined Al-Hilal from Wolves in 2023, and has since made 75 appearances in the league.

The midfielder has scored 12 goals, with eight of those being penalties, and provided 25 assists. Only Riyad Mahrez (27) has supplied more assists in the competition since the start of the 2023-24 season.

Neves has created 166 chances, which ranks fourth in the Pro League in that same timeframe, while his 78 chances created from set-pieces ranks third.

Al-Hilal made a splash earlier this week, signing Karim Benzema from rivals Al-Ittihad.
