Raducanu wins 13 of last 14 games to stun Juvan in Transylvania
Emma Raducanu launched a fightback to beat Kaja Juvan at the Transylvania Open, with Alexandra Eala mounting her own comeback in Abu Dhabi.
Emma Raducanu rallied from 5-0 down in the opening set to stun Kaja Juvan by a 7-5 6-1 scoreline and reach the quarter-finals of the Transylvania Open.
Raducanu, who is seeded first for the event in Romania, her first since splitting from coach Francis Roig, looked to be heading out of the tournament following a dismal start.
But the 2021 US Open champion took her third break-point opportunity in game six, and that proved to be the turning point as she claimed 11 games in succession.
Juvan halted that run with a break in game five of the second set, but she still trailed 4-1 even at that point, and Raducanu swiftly put two more games away to finish the contest.
Having booked a last-eight meeting with Maja Chwalinska, Raducanu told the crowd: "Thank you for the support, it really got me through some tricky moments in that first set.
"I have to say Kaja was playing some great tennis, she was putting me on the back foot straightaway.
"I thought I was being aggressive, going for my shots, but I was missing and not executing."
Elsewhere, at the Abu Dhabi Open, former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko slumped to a three-set defeat to Sara Bejlek, while Alexandra Eala posted a superb 2-6 6-4 7-6 (7-5) victory over Aliaksandra Sasnovich, having trailed 4-0 in the deciding set.

Data Debrief: Raducanu takes her chances
Having lost her first three service games, Raducanu needed a strong response against Juvan's serve, and she got precisely that.
Raducanu converted 57% of her break-point opportunities (4/7) in the match, also winning 11 of 15 points against her opponent's serve in the second set overall.
