Woods and son Charlie take share of PNC Championship lead after opening round
For the first time, Tiger Woods and son Charlie take a share of the lead at the halfway point in the PNC Championship.
Tiger Woods and son Charlie held a share of the lead at the PNC Championship at the end of day one in Orlando.
The pair finished on 13 under after the opening round, carding 59, along with last year's winners Bernhard Langer and son Jason, and 2022 champions Vijay Singh and his son Qass.
It is Woods' first competition since The Open in July, having also undergone back surgery in September, as he competes at the PNC Championship for the fifth consecutive year.
The 48-year-old hit an array of good shots during the round, as the duo, who managed five straight birdies off the back line, shared the lead for the first time.
They finished fifth last year, having previously finished second in 2021.

"It's a scramble, so we're trying to pull off each and every shot for each other," said Woods.
"I think we did that great pretty much the entire day. Charlie made pretty much most of the putts today."
The 36-hole exhibition tournament, for players who won a major or The Players Championship and a family member, concludes on Sunday.
