Tiger Woods' teenage son Charlie hit his first career hole-in-one during the PNC Championship on Sunday. 

The 15-year-old achieved the feat in the final round of the event as he holed out at the par-three fourth to send the father-son team into the lead.

Charlie appeared unaware that his ball had gone in until a large gallery by the green began wildly cheering, as did another group of fans on the other side of the hole. 

The tournament, which features 20 major champions each playing with a member of their family, is the 15-time major winner’s first competitive event since undergoing surgery on his back in September.

"It was a perfect seven-iron, so I just kind of hit it," Charlie told the Golf Channel.

"It was awesome. I didn't think it went in. I don't believe anybody until I go up there and see it."

Woods and his son had ended day one of the team scramble in a three-way tie for first place after carding an opening round of 59, 13 under. 

Around 30 minutes later, Paddy Harrington - the son of three-time major winner Padraig Harrington - also made a hole-in-one on the eighth hole.

"I've never hit a shot and been that excited before," Padraig said. 

Tiger and Charlie have headlined the field but are yet to win the tournament. In 2021, the pair finished in second place behind John Daly and his son, John Daly II.
