Rose maintains Farmers Insurance Open lead at one of his tour favourites
A seven-under-par 65 in the second round saw Justin Rose maintain his lead at the Farmers Insurance Open in record fashion.
Justin Rose revealed that the Farmers Insurance Open is one of his favourite tournaments on the PGA Tour after he extended his lead in the second round.
The 45-year-old shot a seven-under-par 65 to move to 17 under after two rounds, breaking his own 36-hole record at the tournament.
Rose carded an eagle, six birdies and just one bogey to move four shots clear of second-place Seamus Power, while Americans Max McGreevy and Joel Dahmen are tied in third on 11 under.
Rose, who finished as runner-up in the 2025 Masters, believes he thrives on more difficult courses, such as the one at the Farmers Insurance Open.
"I feel like in my career I've won on tough golf courses generally, so that's my M.O., I would say," said the Englishman.

"It's the kind of a place I enjoy. It's one of my favourite tournaments on Tour, just the whole area, the whole atmosphere, the whole vibe."
Meanwhile, Brooks Koepka made the cut in San Diego as he recovered from a poor start in his first PGA event since leaving LIV Golf.
The five-time major winner shot a second-round 63 after carding a round of 73 on Thursday, seeing him finish on three under after two rounds.
"I think [Thursday] I was excited to play, nervous, and kind of didn't know what to expect, but today felt more normal, I guess," Koepka said.
"But yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong, I definitely still got antsy, but I guess maybe a little bit of nerves, just trying to figure it out and test - see where my game's at too, right? I feel like I'm playing really well. It's just been a long layoff."
