Masters champion McIlroy confirms Scottish Open return
Rory McIlroy will play at the Scottish Open as part of his preparations for the Open Championship at Royal Portrush in July.
Rory McIlroy's first competitive appearance as Masters champion and golf's newest career grand slam winner outside the United States will be at the Scottish Open.
McIlroy completed the grand slam at the 11th attempt at Augusta earlier this month, beating Justin Rose in a play-off.
He joined Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players to win all four of the men's majors.
McIlory won at the Renaissance Club in 2023, beating home hope Bob MacIntyre by one shot.
That victory saw the Northern Irishman become the first player to win the Scottish Open, the Open Championship and the Irish Open, and he is targeting another win in Scotland.
"Winning a national open is always special, and I'm pleased to have the chance to compete for another Genesis Scottish Open title," McIlroy said.
"It has certainly been a memorable year so far, and I'm looking forward to carrying on the momentum to the home of golf this summer."
Rose, MacIntyre, Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas are some of the other names who have already committed to playing the Scottish Open.
