Fleetwood dedicates DP World India Championship win to son Frankie
Tommy Fleetwood made it three wins in the space of three months after he clinched the inaugural DP World India Championship title.
Tommy Fleetwood dedicated his DP World India Championship triumph to his son Frankie as he claimed a two-shot victory over Keita Nakajima on Sunday.
Fleetwood shot a final round 65, mixing eight birdies with one bogey to end the week on 22 under to clinch an eighth DP World Tour and first since the 2024 Dubai Invitational.
It was the third triumph in as many months for Fleetwood, who won the FedEx Cup title with his first on US soil, as well as helping Team Europe to victory at the Ryder Cup.
Nakajima had a two-shot lead to start the final round in Delhi, but he was unable to keep pace with Fleetwood, who made three straight birdies starting at the seventh hole.
After rolling in for par to seal his victory, the Englishman embraced his eight-year-old son, who he said had never had a chance to run onto the 18th green to congratulate him.
He was not present for Fleetwood's maiden PGA Tour victory in August and was not old enough to attend the world number five's last win on the DP World Tour, in January 2024.
"We were at home last week, and we were driving the buggy – I think we were playing golf together – and he [Frankie] just said randomly: 'Do you know what you've never done? You've never won a tournament, and then I've been able to run onto the 18th green'," Fleetwood explained.
"I had that written down all week. It was just another opportunity really. There's going to be many more times where I hopefully get the chance to do that, but that was all day today what I had in my mind.
"Could I put myself in a position where I can actually make that moment happen? It's just one of those little things. It means so much to me and that was really cool."

It was also a positive day for Fleetwood's Ryder Cup team-mates from their memorable triumph at Bethpage Black last month.
Shane Lowry finished four strokes back in tied-third alongside Alex Fitzpatrick and Thriston Lawrence.
A chip-in eagle on the final hole lifted Viktor Hovland to T6, alongside Jayden Schaper and Joost Luiten.
Daniel Hillier, who was briefly two ahead after seven birdies in his first 10 holes on Sunday, dropped back to tied-ninth after two bogeys and a double bogey in his final five holes.
Rory McIlroy ended 10 strokes back on 11 under and in tied-26th, having carded four birdies and three bogeys during a final-round 71.
