Norris wins Miami sprint, Antonelli demoted by time penalty
Kimi Antonelli repeatedly exceeding the track limits cost him two championship points, while Lando Norris led Oscar Piastri over the line.
Lando Norris won his fourth career Sprint in a McLaren one-two at the Miami Grand Prix, while a time penalty cost championship leader Kimi Antonelli two points.
Reigning champion Norris, who won the Miami Sprint last year, qualified on pole and led throughout, holding off team-mate Oscar Piastri to take the maximum eight points.
Charles Leclerc rounded out the top three, with Antonelli crossing the line in fourth ahead of Mercedes team-mate George Russell.
However, Antonelli was deemed to have exceeded the track limits too many times and consequently dropped to sixth, behind Max Verstappen.
Verstappen crossed the line ahead of Lewis Hamilton after enjoying a fiesty battle with the Ferrari driver.
Nico Hulkenberg was unable to start after his car suffered from a mechanical issue prior to lights out, while Arvid Lindblad did not even take to the grid due to a technical fault.
"It was a good Sprint – nice to be back on the top step. Our [upgrades] have really helped," Norris said.
"It was hot out there, it was sweaty. I was still pushing. It's a nice start to the weekend, but now I have to do it all again."
