Mourinho: Champions League qualification won't impact Benfica future
Jose Mourinho has been linked with a return to Real Madrid, but the Portuguese coach is focused on Benfica's final game of the season.
Jose Mourinho insists his future at Benfica will not be affected by whether the club secures qualification for the Champions League.
The Portuguese coach has been heavily linked with a return to Real Madrid next season, with Alvaro Arbeloa failing to win a trophy with Los Blancos this term.
Mourinho previously coached Madrid from May 2010 to June 2013, winning LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana during his three years in charge.
He won 87 of his 114 LaLiga games in charge of Madrid (D16 L11), averaging 2.43 points per game while his side scored 326 times across those matches.
Despite growing expectations of Mourinho returning to the Santiago Bernabeu, the 63-year-old is focused on the final game of Benfica's season.
Benfica, who are unbeaten in the Primeira Liga this term, face Estoril on Saturday, and they must win and need Sporting CP to lose against Gil Vicente in order to qualify for the Champions League.
When asked if qualifying for the Champions League would influence his future, Mourinho responded: "No. I'm talking about Benfica, you're talking about Real.

"As far as I'm concerned, the work we've been doing won't change whether we finish second or third.
"That's not what will make the difference. Of course Benfica wants to play in the Champions League and I'd prefer that too, but it has no bearing on the decision.
"The final week of the league isn't for thinking about the future or contracts.
"I haven't spoken to anyone from another club. I haven't spoken to anyone from any club. It made no sense to do anything other than focus. It doesn't sound like a farewell, it sounds like the respect I have for them [Benfica].
"As I said a couple of weeks ago, there's a match at Estoril [on Saturday] and from Monday onwards, I'll be able to answer questions about my future as manager and that of Benfica's future."
