Kerr insists Warriors will not sit Curry for play-in tournament
Stephen Curry has not played since January 30, but if he is fit for the NBA play-in tournament, the Golden State Warriors intend to use him.
Steve Kerr insists there is no chance of the Golden State Warriors sitting out Stephen Curry for the NBA's play-in tournament if his knee injury heals completely by that time.
Curry has been sidelined since a 131-124 defeat to the Detroit Pistons on January 30, having suffered from patella-femoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in his knee.
But he is getting closer to full fitness, with the four-time NBA champion likely to return to full practice later this week.
Curry was due to practice on Sunday, only for the team to push his return to the court back, which Kerr said was a routine change.
"It's all just part of the rehab and all the different testing he does," Kerr said of that change. "It was just pushed back a day or two."
Without Curry, the Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 137-131 in overtime on Monday, improving their record for the season to 34-38.
They are 10th in the Western Conference, and should they finish the regular season in that position, they would have to win two road play-in games to reach the playoffs.
Asked about Curry's involvement in a possible play-in push, Kerr said: "We're not chasing a play-in berth. We are squarely in the play-in no matter what we do.
"Bottom line, if Steph is healthy, he's going to play because that's what we're here for. The chance to get into the playoffs is a big deal for us, and a big deal for Steph.
"It's been a long haul. He's dying to get out there, for sure."

The Warriors suffered another injury setback during Monday's game, though, as wing Moses Moody went down with a non-contact left knee injury late on and had to be carried from the court on a stretcher.
"It's brutal, you know? We've been waiting to get back healthy," team-mate Draymond Green told NBA on ESPN Radio. "Moses is a guy who does everything right, and he changed the game for us tonight.
"Everything started going bad, he picked up his defensive intensity, knocked shots down, he changed the game for us. To see him go out like that was bad."
The Warriors, who only have two wins in their last 10 games, have just completed a six-game road stretch and are next in action at home to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
