Italy's rising star Todaro ruled out of Six Nations with knee injury
Italy's hopes of a strong Six Nations campaign have been dented after rising star Edoardo Todaro sustained a serious knee injury.
Italy will be without rising star Edoardo Todaro for the Six Nations, after the Northampton Saints wing suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Todaro, who signed his first professional contract ahead of this season, has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Saints, scoring 10 tries in 13 appearances.
The 19-year-old subsequently received his first senior international call-up for Italy's match against Chile in November.
Todaro was also named in the Azzurri's squad for the upcoming Six Nations, but suffered a serious knee injury at their training camp in Verona.

"The instrumental examinations carried out showed a lesion of the right anterior cruciate ligament," a statement from the Italian Rugby Federation read.
"The player will return to his home club, where he will continue the recovery and rehabilitation process, supported by the Northampton medical staff in collaboration with that of the men's national team."
Italy, who finished fifth in last year's Six Nations, begin their 2026 campaign against Scotland at Stadio Olimpico on February 7, before facing back-to-back away games against Ireland (February 14) and France (February 22).
