Grizzlies send star Jackson to Jazz in eight-player trade
The two-time All-Star is on the move as Memphis looks to overhaul its roster.
The Memphis Grizzlies' tear down is apparently underway.
The Grizzlies reportedly worked out a trade on Tuesday to send two-time All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz as part of an eight-player deal.
The Jazz also acquired John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr., while shipping Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang and three future first-round draft picks to the Grizzlies, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
Memphis (19-29) now owns 13 future first-round draft picks, and Ja Morant, whose name has been rumoured in trade speculation for weeks, could be next to be dealt ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, as the Grizzlies look to rebuild through the draft.

Jackson,26, had spent his entire eight-year career with Memphis since being drafted fourth overall in 2018, and has three years remaining on a five-year, $205million deal that includes a player option for the 2029-30 season.
He has twice been named to the All-Defensive First Team and was chosen as the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2022-23, when he led the league in blocked shots at 3.00 per game.
In 45 games this season, he is averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.51 blocks - close to his career averages of 18.5 points, 5.6 boards, 1.5 assists and 1.87 blocks.
He leaves a Memphis team in 11th place in the Western Conference and three games back of 10th-place Portland to join the Jazz (15-35), who are eight games behind the Trail Blazers for the final spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
