Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke has died at the age of 29.

His agency, Priority Sports and the Grizzlies, announced his passing on social media on Tuesday.

A cause of death was not revealed, and no other details were released.

"We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Brandon Clarke," the Grizzlies said in a statement. "Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organisation and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten."

Selected 21st overall in the 2019 draft, Clarke had spent his entire seven-year NBA career with Memphis. Along with Ja Morant, he was the longest-tenured player on the Grizzlies.

As a rookie in 2019-20, Clarke averaged career highs of 12.1 points and 5.9 rebounds and was named to the All-Rookie first team.

He averaged double-digits in scoring each of his first five seasons before dipping to 8.3 points per game in 64 contests in 2024-25.

He then appeared in just two games this season due to knee and calf injuries.

In 309 career games, he had averages of 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds.

"We are devastated to learn of the passing of Brandon Clarke," NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement." As one of the longest-tenured members of the Grizzlies, Brandon was a beloved teammate and leader who played the game with enormous passion and grit.
