At Real Madrid, plans for next season are already well underway. Signing Alexander Arnold seems to be one of their priorities in order to add more quality on the wing, with both the Sporting Director and Italian manager in complete agreement. His contract with Liverpool is up on 30 June but there is already a generous renewal offer on the table.
There is no rush, and Real Madrid know only too well that haste can be your own worst enemy. Moving Lucas Vázquez or Valverde to the position that Arnold would take, and Carvajal’s return for the start of next season, means that the Spanish giants have plenty of quality options in that area, so there is no cause for concern. But if everything falls into place, they would be willing to make an offer for the right-back during the upcoming winter transfer window that opens at the beginning of next year.
Real are on respectful terms with Liverpool and are pursuing a non-aggression pact, which is why they have already approached the Reds and offered a transfer fee of around €20 million. The English team have not commented on the issue, but have taken the opportunity to express their interest in one of Madrid’s players. Rodrigo may have to be included as part of the deal before the English international ends up at the Santiago Bernabéu.
