Feyi-Waboso likely to miss entire Six Nations by undergoing shoulder surgery
Immanuel Feyi-Waboso is due for a shoulder operation next week, but it could see him miss all of England's Six Nations campaign.
Immanuel Feyi-Waboso is likely to miss England's entire Six Nations campaign, should he undergo shoulder surgery next week.
The Exeter Chiefs wing suffered a dislocated shoulder during his side's defeat by Sale Sharks on December 21.
Chiefs coach Rob Baxter, who said the injury was "not ideal for ourselves or for England", says Feyi-Waboso is scheduled to go under the knife next week.
England begin their Six Nations campaign against Ireland on February 1, before rounding it off against Wales on March 15.
The 22-year-old, who was nominated as World Rugby's breakthrough player of 2024 after scoring five tries in his first eight Tests, would miss the duration of the tournament should he undergo surgery but, if not, could potentially feature in the latter stages.
"It's an ongoing process at the moment involving Manny, our medical team and the England medical team," Baxter told BBC Radio Devon.
"The shoulder isn't going to rehab for the full Six Nations campaign. England go off into camp in not very long.
"He's barely started his rehab process really as the to-ing and fro-ing over whether he has his rehab is slowing both options down - it's slowing the operation process and the rehab process.
"The big thing at the minute is the decision will be made. It can go one way or the other and that will give him a clear reference point for what he is aiming for."
