Farrell not impressed by Ireland's response despite victory over Japan
Ireland coach Andy Farrell was not pleased by his team's display on Saturday, despite a six-try victory over Japan in Dublin.
Andy Farrell felt there was a lot left to be desired about the display from his Ireland team in their victory over Japan.
Ireland's quality told in a 41-10 defeat of Eddie Jones' team at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
The score was 17-10 at half-time, before the Irish ran away with it in the second period.
Ireland lost to New Zealand last week, and Farrell was not satisfied with the levels his team showed against Japan.
"In short, no," Farrell said when asked if he had seen the response he wanted from his players.
"We were feeling sorry for ourselves a little bit and the mood wasn't how it should be, but how we got over ourselves and got some tempo back into the game in the second half is credit to the lads.
"I suppose creating a few more opportunities as well, but not finishing them off with the last pass, is something else that obviously needs cleaning up, but making the inroads in the first place is pleasing enough."

Farrell made eight changes to his team in a bid to get a reaction following the loss to New Zealand.
"You 100% have to roll the dice a little bit to give people opportunities and find their feet and compete," he added.
"It's very easy to pick your best 23 or whatever, but that wouldn't serve us any good down the line.
"Over the course of two games, most people have had a shot at it now and we need to get over ourselves a little bit and start knuckling down for what's coming ahead, because obviously the opposition gets bigger and stronger."
Ireland's next two Tests see them take on Australia and then South Africa.
