As the dust is still settling over BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026, the top-tier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports action is heading to Romania. Here's what CS2 fans must know about the PGL Bucharest 2026 event kicking off in early April.

Taking place at the PGL Studio venue in Bucharest, Romania, the tournament runs from April 3 to 11, 2026. There are 16 teams competing for their share of the $1.25 million prize pool. That's a whopping R21.5 million at the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate.

Many of the top 10 teams are not competing, leaving the door open for someone else to claim the trophy, since Vitality isn't there to add more silverware to their overflowing cabinet.

All teams start in the 16 Team Swiss System Format Group Stage, where all matches are BO3. The top eight teams will advance to the Playoffs Stage. In the Playoffs Stage of PGL Bucharest 2026, the format is a single-elimination bracket, where all matches are BO3, except for the Grand Final, which is BO5.
