As the dust settles over the Accor Arena in Paris, France, we have a new VALORANT world champion to celebrate, with NRG lifting the trophy.

At VALORANT Champions Paris, 16 of the world's best teams fought their hearts out for a share of the $2,250,000 prize pool and the coveted trophy. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that's roughly R38,7 million. Here's how things went down with our report from the tournament, a highlights video, and a complete list of the final standings.

Led by the 2023 world champion, Ethan "Ethan" Arnold, it was NRG who topped Group C with a 2-0 record to qualify for the Playoffs Stage, beating defending champions EDward Gaming in their opening match.

In the double-elimination Playoffs Stage, NRG took out GIANTX with a very clean 2-0, and survived a scare against MIBR to win 2-1. Against Fnatic in the Upper Bracket Final, NRG managed a solid 2-0 victory, with the first map going into overtime.

In the best-of-five Grand Final, NRG won the first two maps, Corrode and Lotus. Fnatic then made a huge comeback on Abyss, requiring overtime to pull one back.

Fnatic secured a win on Ascent, pushing NRG to the edge. However, NRG managed to find their footing, winning Sunset in convincing fashion, and thereby, the Grand Final with a score of 3-2.

Congratulations to NRG for winning VALORANT Champions Paris, and to Brock "brawk" Somerhalder for being named the tournament's MVP. A special congratulations go out to NRG's in-game leader, Ethan "Ethan" Arnold, who became the first-ever two-time world champion.
