At the PGL Studios venue in Bucharest, Romania, a top-tier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament, PGL Masters Bucharest 2025, came to a thrilling conclusion. In case you couldn't watch the action unfold, here's what went down in Romania.

In the Group Stage, paiN Gaming and HEROIC surprised fans by going 3-0 to secure top seeds in the Playoffs Stage, while favorites such as Aurora Gaming barely scraped by with a 3-2 record.

With $1 million on the line, eight qualified teams duked it out in the single-elimination bracket Playoffs Stage, where all matches were best-of-three, except for the Grand Final, which was a best-of-five slugfest. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that's roughly R17.3 million.

In the Quarterfinals, Legacy beat paiN Gaming 2-1 in a close Brazilian derby and then beat SAW in the Semifinals after a thrilling reverse-sweep comeback to earn a spot in the Grand Final.

On the other side of the bracket, the Turkish side, Aurora Gaming beat B8 in a relatively close 2-1 affair, and then decimated GamerLegion with an immaculate 2-0 score, where GamerLegion could only post two round wins in the entire series.

In the Third-Place decider match, SAW continued to impress by beating GamerLegion with a 2-1 reverse-sweep comeback.

Aurora Gaming took the lead in the Grand Final, winning the first two maps, Dust2 (13-11) and Mirage (13-8), to put themselves on match and tournament points. Legacy bounced back to win Train in overtime with a 19-17 score, and tied up the series 2-2 with a 13-8 win on Inferno.

On the fifth and final map, Nuke, Aurora Gaming won 13-11, avoiding the reverse-sweep and claiming their first top-tier LAN trophy. Congratulations go out to Aurora Gaming for winning PGL Masters Bucharest 2025, and to İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş for picking up his first top-tier LAN MVP title.
