DreamLeague Season 24 viewer’s guide

What Dota 2 esports fans need to know about the next big event, DreamLeague Season 24, including the most-important details.

It's been an exciting time for Dota 2 esports fans, with huge events finishing up, from The International 2024 to PGL Wallachia Season 2. The action isn't stopping just yet, despite us getting close to the end of the year, with the next big tournament being DreamLeague Season 24! Here's what you need to know.

DreamLeague S24 details

From 27 October to 10 November 2024, we'll get treated to 16 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world competing for their share of the huge $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that's roughly R17.6 million.

DreamLeague Season 24 has two Group Stages. The first sees two groups of eight teams compete in a single Round-Robin format, where the top four teams from each group make it to the second Group Stage. The first Group Stage runs from 27 to 30 October 2024.

Teams Competing:
  • Team Falcons
  • Gaimin Gladiators
  • Team Liquid
  • Xtreme Gaming
  • Tundra Esports
  • AVULUS
  • BetBoom Team
  • Nigma Galaxy
  • Team Spirit
  • BandaNoone
  • Palianytsia
  • Nouns Esports
  • HEROIC
  • Azure Ray
  • Talon Esports
  • Team Waska

In the second Group Stage, there’s one single Round-Robin format group with all eight remaining teams. The top four teams from this second Group Stage make it to the playoffs, with the top two going to the upper bracket and the 3rd and 4th teams making it to the lower bracket. The second Group Stage runs from 1 to 7 November 2024.

In the playoffs of DreamLeague Season 24, all matches are best-of-three, except the grand final, which is best-of-five, with no upper bracket advantage. The playoffs run from 9 to 10 November 2024.

Despite the huge prize pool, DreamLeague Season 24, just like past seasons, is an online event played on the Europe West server. Since it is based in Europe, it should be pleasant watch times for South Africans. You can watch the stream on the ESL Dota 2 Twitch channel when matches start each day.
