As the first big League of Legends (LoL) esports event of the year, all eyes are on 2025 First Stand. One qualified team from each region is participating, for their share of the massive $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that's roughly R18.7 million. Let's dive in and take a look at the most important details.

The 2025 First Stand tournament is the first cross-regional competition of the 2025 annual LoL esports calendar, boasting one team from each region, namely LCK, LPL, LEC, LTA and LCP. It's a new addition to the LoL esports scene, coming in before MSI and Worlds.

The tournament runs from 10 to 16 March at the LoL PARK venue in Seoul, South Korea. Teams are competing in front of a live crowd, with the top casters and talent in the business taking fans through the event.

The action begins with a Round-Robin Group Stage, where one team will be eliminated before we get to the Playoffs. In the 2025 First Stand Playoffs, we'll see the top four remaining teams competing in a single-elimination bracket.
