Warriors star Curry out at least 10 more days
Golden State continues to be devastated by injuries as Curry's 38th birthday draws near
The Golden State Warriors seemingly can’t catch a break this season.
The team announced on Wednesday that star guard Stephen Curry will remain sidelined for at least another 10 days as he continues to battle a lingering knee issue.
Curry’s right knee soreness first appeared on the injury report when he sat out a Jan. 26 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves before returning for the Warriors’ next two games. He has not played since Jan. 30, with Golden State going 5-10 in that span.
The best-case scenario of a March 21 return would have Curry missing five more games, with the Warriors embarking on a six-game road trip starting on Sunday.
Playing in his 17th NBA season, Curry leads the Warriors by scoring 27.2 points per game.
Injuries have played a major role in derailing the Warriors’ season, with Curry limited to 39 games and Jimmy Butler out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
Veterans Draymond Green and Al Horford have routinely missed games due to injury management, and trade-deadline acquisition Kristaps Porziņģis has played just two games for Golden State.
The result has been the Warriors limping to a 32-33 record, destined to end up in the Western Conference play-in tournament.
