Arteta 'really worried' by Saka injury in Palace win
Bukayo Saka limped off with a hamstring injury during Arsenal's 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Mikel Arteta says he is "really worried" by the hamstring injury suffered by Bukayo Saka during Arsenal's 5-1 rout of Crystal Palace.
The England winger was forced off in the 24th minute at Selhurst Park, and subsequently left the stadium on crutches.
It is the second hamstring issue sustained this season by Saka, who was absent for several weeks after suffering the same injury on international duty in October.
The 23-year-old also suffered a leg injury in May that ruled him out of Arsenal's final game of the 2023-24 campaign against Everton.
And Arteta could not hide his concern at Saka's latest setback.
"He felt something in his hamstring, he couldn't continue," the Gunners head coach said. "He will have to be assessed, so [I am] really worried about that one.
"It's very difficult to [comment of the extent of the injury] now. It's in the same leg. I don't know how big this is going to be."
The Spaniard is also waiting to learn the extent of the training ground injury suffered by Raheem Sterling on Friday.
"We don't know how long that is as well," Arteta added. "To lose two players within 24 hours, it's not good.
"With the amount of games being played every three days, it doesn't surprise me. But the team will react to that."
