Afridi takes over as Pakistan ODI captain from Rizwan
Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead Pakistan in their upcoming ODI series against South Africa after replacing Mohammed Rizwan as captain.
Pakistan have announced that Shaheen Shah Afridi will be their new captain in the ODI format.
The fast bowler replaces Mohammed Rizwan in the role, starting with the first of three ODI matches against South Africa on November 4.
Rizwan’s removal from the position seemed inevitable after the PCB refused to confirm that the wicketkeeper would lead the side against the Proteas during their squad announcement.
The decision was announced during their second Test against South Africa, in which both players are currently playing.
